The latest crop of fishing boats certainly don't skimp on creature comforts or fancy features.
Pursuit DC 325
Dual consoles put family ahead of fishing in many respects, but stretching the style to 30-plus feet reduces the need for compromise. Up front you've got wraparound seating and a bow ladder for easy beach access. At the helm, the glass windshield stretches to the fiberglass hardtop, keeping wind and weather at bay. Back in the cockpit you've got insulated fishboxes, tackle storage, and rod holders. And if the fish aren't cooperating, you can pull something out of the fridge and toss it on the optional grill to entertain your fishing buddies instead. PursuitBoats.com
Contender 22 Sport
The smallest Contender in the lineup, the new 22 Sport brings a family-friendly option to a brand long focused on hard-core fishermen and tournament anglers. The boat features a 26-gallon livewell, cockpit storage for six rods, a 94-gallon in-floor fish box forward, and twin 30-gallon fishboxes in the aft cockpit. But it also offers an optional head in the console and forward seating. ContenderOffshore.com
Everglades 435
Continuing the trend of big center-consoles with real cabins belowdecks, the Everglades 435, the largest in its lineup, aims to blend luxury with functionality. Function comes in the form of hefty fishboxes, 10 tackle drawers, a lighted livewell, and freezer space for your bait or catch. Luxury takes the form of a custom etched-glass partition and a real head with standing shower, not a common item on center-consoles. EvergladesBoats.com
Boston Whaler 420 Outrage
When you get to 40-plus feet in a center-console, space opens up, particularly below-decks, in ways that start to stretch the definition of what a center-console can be. With a true cabin on board, big center-consoles like the Outrage start to fill the niche that the walkaround-style vacated when those boats fell out of fashion. A crowd favorite on the docks at the Ft. Lauderdale show this past fall, the 420 will keep the whole family happy but still has the features to make a day of fishing successful. The Mercury power package includes SmartCraft Vessel View gauges plus automatic trim tabs and an optional joystick for easy close-quarters maneuvering. BostonWhaler.com
Belzona 277 Walk-Around
A walk-around's job is to give the 360-degree fishability of a center-console with the amenities of a cuddy cabin. While large center-consoles are blurring the distinction between the styles, the Belzona 277 is firmly in the mold of the original. You get a cabin with a 6-foot berth and walk-in head, but also sunpads and the ability to walk all the way to the bow. Customize the leaning post with a tackle center that fits your needs and you're ready to fish. BelzonaMarine.com
Hunt 32CC
Drawing from its experience in the luxury dayboat market, Hunt has filled the 32CC with amenities like wraparound seating for eight and an optional teak table forward, a microwave in a mini galley below, and a standup head complete with shower. The integrated swim platform and optional hull-side door make getting in and out of the water a breeze. But because it's a Hunt, it's ready to run offshore to find the fish. HuntYachts.com
Intrepid 375
Intrepid never settles for following the pack, so when it went to redesign its walk-around-style boats, you could be sure some innovative thinking would show up in the final product. In the 375, the designers moved the head out of the cabin, freeing up space to offer roomier accommodations, including a full galley and convertible dinette. The head, found inside the console, features a retractable commode and separate shower stall. You still get full access to the bow, but with the profile of a cuddy cabin and the unmistakable look of an Intrepid. IntrepidBoats.com
Grady-White 330 Express
Grady-White refined its popular 330 Express for 2015, improving the ergonomics at the helm and offering a full windshield that stretches to the hardtop and wraps around so the supports are not directly in front of the helm station (the standard windshield has a gap that lets the wind flow over your head). The only boat in this grouping with a full-width cabin, the 330 Express has both a forward berth and a double berth amidships under the deck, plus a full galley and features you'd expect on a cruising boat. Grady-White also recently rolled out the Captain Grady app, which talks you through all aspects of running the boat, via instructions and videos specific to each model. GradyWhite.com
Regulator 23
he smallest Regulator in the lineup still offers a lot of fishability packed into its 23-foot length, including dual fish boxes forward under the seats, a big in-deck fish box with locking rod storage built in, and a 23-gallon livewell. Hang a single 300-hp Yamaha on the bracket, taking the total length to nearly 28 feet, and you've got a boat that rides bigger than others in its class. RegulatorMarine.com
