New VA1 extension speaker from Banshee digitally filters out background noise while amplifying the human voice to offer unparalleled clarity.
Banshee Marine Audio says its new VA1 Extension Speaker provides the “loudest and clearest amplification of your VHF radio.” The secret, according to Banshee, is a built-in 10W Digital Signal Processing (DSP) amplifier that filters out background noise and emphasizes the human voice.
Extension speakers significantly increase the volume of a VHF radio, which can be critical on larger boats where the skipper may be too far from the helm to hear clearly. The VA1’s face-mounted volume control allows users to quickly turn the volume up or down. Banshee’s DSP chipset amplifies only on the human voice range between 300Hz and 4000Hz.
“We’re proud of the innovation, functionality and value of this simple, yet elegant solution to a common problem boaters have always faced, which is to have clear and effective VHF communication,” says Dan Soeters, president of Banshee Marine Audio. The VA1 Active VHF Extension Speaker was named a 2024 IBEX Innovation Award Winner in the Safety Equipment category at the recreational marine industry showcase last September. The unit is available in black or white.
