Welcoming event offers classroom, dockside, and on-the-water workshops for sailors of all levels taught by experienced female instructors and captains.
The annual National Women’s Sailing Association’s (NWSA) Conference will be held June 6-8, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida. The event offers a full day of classroom, dockside, and on-the-water workshops, including the popular Take the Helm introduction to sailing for women. The conference is for sailors of all levels taught by experienced female instructors and captains from across the country. Sailors can fine-tune their spinnaker sail trim skills, practice navigation using paper and electronic charts, learn how to recover a crew overboard with a Lifesling rescue device, and more. There will be more than 30 different classes at different levels to choose from.
A highlight of the event will be the announcement of the 2025 BoatUS/NWSA Leadership in Women’s Sailing Award recipient. This award recognizes an individual with a history of “inspiring, educating and enriching the lives of women through sailing.”
This year, the conference is expanding to three days. On Friday morning there will be classes held at the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg and the Mastry Engine Center. In the afternoon, attendees can tour the Island Packet Yachts factory. BoatU.S. is once again a sponsor of the conference. Visit womensailing.org for more information or to register. Direct questions about conference registration or sponsorship opportunities to conference@womensailing.org or (985) 247-8919. Registration closes June 4.
